  • 8 slices turkey bacon (diced)
  • 1 cup Half & Half (or heavy whipping cream)
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 1 cup finely grated Parmesan cheese (divided)
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper (to taste)
  • ⅛ teaspoon nutmeg (optional)
  • Crushed red pepper flakes (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F.
  2. Parboil the halved Brussels sprouts in salted boiling water for about 5 minutes until just tender.
  3. In a skillet over medium heat, cook diced turkey bacon until crispy, about 3 to 4 minutes. Remove excess grease, leaving about 2-3 tablespoons.
  4. In a mixing bowl, whisk together Half & Half, Dijon mustard, half the Parmesan cheese, minced garlic, salt, pepper, and nutmeg if using.
  5. Remove the skillet from heat and add the parboiled Brussels sprouts. Pour the cream sauce over them and sprinkle with remaining Parmesan.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 15 to 20 minutes until bubbly and golden brown.
  7. Let rest for 5 minutes before serving; garnish with crushed red pepper flakes.
