Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 cups bread flour
  • 1/4 tsp active dry yeast
  • 1 1/4 tsp coarse salt
  • 1 2/3 cup warm water
  • Pear, pearl onions, cherry tomatoes, thinly sliced red onion
  • Fresh rosemary sprigs
  • Coarse salt
  • Plenty of olive oil (a few Tbs.)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Dough: In a large bowl, mix bread flour, yeast, and salt. Add warm water and stir until combined. Let the dough rest overnight to develop flavor.
  2. Shape and Rest: Drizzle olive oil in a casserole dish. Transfer risen dough carefully into the dish, dimpling it to create texture. Cover and let rest for two hours.
  3. Preheat & Decorate: Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Decorate with rosemary sprigs, pear slices for the trunk, cherry tomatoes as ornaments, and pearl onions for added whimsy.
  4. Bake & Enjoy: Sprinkle with coarse salt and bake for about 25 minutes until golden brown. Allow to cool slightly before slicing.
