  • 4 ⅔ cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup crushed chocolate sandwich cookies
  • ¾ cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • 2 large eggs (room temperature)
  • ¾ cup warm milk
  • ½ cup heavy cream (or plant-based milk for frosting)
  • ⅓ cup unsalted butter (softened, for filling)
  • 1 cup brown sugar (packed)
  • 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup crushed chocolate sandwich cookies (for filling)
  • ½ cup unsalted butter (softened, for frosting)
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • ⅛ teaspoon sea salt
  • 4 oz cream cheese (softened (113g))
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 3 tablespoons heavy cream (or milk for a runnier frosting)
  • 4 chocolate sandwich cookies (crushed)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine warm water and sugar; sprinkle yeast on top and let sit until frothy (about 5 minutes).
  2. Mix in flour, crushed cookies, salt, butter, eggs, vanilla extract, and warm milk until combined; no need to knead—just mix until slightly sticky.
  3. Cover and let rise in a warm place for 1-2 hours until doubled.
  4. Roll out dough on a floured surface into a rectangle; spread softened butter over it.
  5. Combine brown sugar and cinnamon; sprinkle over dough along with more crushed cookies.
  6. Roll dough tightly from one long side to another; slice into equal pieces.
  7. Place in a greased baking dish; cover and let rise for another 30 minutes.
  8. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake rolls for about 20 minutes until golden brown.
  9. Prepare frosting by mixing softened cream cheese, butter, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and heavy cream until smooth; drizzle over warm rolls topped with crushed cookies.
