  • 3 ½ cups bread flour
  • 2 ¼ tsp active dry yeast
  • 1 ¼ cups warm water (105°F–110°F)
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 ½ tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp Italian herb blend
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit until foamy (5–7 minutes).
  2. Stir in olive oil, salt, and half of the flour. Gradually add the remaining flour until a soft dough forms.
  3. Knead on a floured surface for 8–10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place until doubled in size (1–1.5 hours).
  5. Punch down the dough and shape it into a rectangle. Sprinkle garlic and cheeses evenly over the dough.
  6. Roll the dough jelly-roll style and place seam-side down in a greased loaf pan.
  7. Cover and let rise for another 30–40 minutes while preheating the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  8. Brush with olive oil and sprinkle with herbs before baking for 25–30 minutes until golden brown.
