  • 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs (room temperature)
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
  2. In a bowl, mash the overripe bananas until smooth and set aside.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, cream together softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until fluffy.
  4. Mix in eggs, mashed bananas, and vanilla extract until well combined.
  5. Sift together flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt; fold gently into the wet mixture until just combined. Incorporate three-quarters of the chocolate chips.
  6. Pour batter into the loaf pan and sprinkle remaining chocolate chips on top.
  7. Bake for 50-60 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Allow to cool for at least 20 minutes before slicing.
