Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp instant yeast
  • 1 tsp kosher salt (plus more for topping)
  • 1 cup lukewarm water
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • Optional: 2 tsp minced garlic and fresh rosemary leaves

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, whisk together flour, yeast, and salt. Gradually add lukewarm water, mixing until you form a sticky dough.
  2. Lightly coat the dough with olive oil and let it rest at room temperature for about 1.5 hours or until doubled in size.
  3. Prepare an 8 or 9-inch baking dish by greasing it with butter and adding olive oil. Place the dough in the dish and roll to coat. Let it rest for another 30 minutes.
  4. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  5. Top the dough with more olive oil, minced garlic, and rosemary if using. Press dimples into the dough using greased fingers.
  6. Sprinkle additional salt on top and bake for about 25 minutes until golden brown.
  7. Allow cooling for 10 minutes before slicing and serving warm with butter or dipping oil.
