  • One 15 oz loaf day-old French bread (cut into cubes)
  • ⅔ cup light brown sugar (packed)
  • ⅔ cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
  • pinch salt
  • 6 tablespoons unsalted butter (softened)
  • Maple syrup

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, half and half, brown sugar, pumpkin puree, pumpkin pie spice, and vanilla until smooth.
  2. Fold in cubed French bread until well-coated; let soak for 10-15 minutes.
  3. Combine brown sugar, flour, pumpkin pie spice, and salt in another bowl; cut in softened butter until crumbly.
  4. Pour bread mixture into a greased baking dish, sprinkle topping evenly over it, and bake at 350°F (175°C) for about 45 minutes or until golden brown.
  5. Let cool slightly before serving with warm maple syrup.
