  • ½ cup unsalted butter
  • ¼ cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt
  • 2 tablespoons brewed coffee
  • 1 tablespoon powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×9-inch baking pan.
  2. In one bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. In another bowl, beat the butter and sugar until fluffy.
  3. Mix in the egg, cooled coffee, buttermilk, and vanilla extract into the butter mixture. Gradually stir in the dry ingredients until smooth.
  4. Pour batter into the prepared pan and bake for 25–30 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
  5. For the caramel sauce, combine brown sugar, butter, and heavy cream in a saucepan over medium heat until thickened; stir in vanilla extract and brewed coffee.
