  • 3 teaspoons corn starch
  • 2 tablespoons water

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, whisk together cornstarch and 2 tablespoons of water until smooth; set aside.
  2. In a medium saucepan over medium heat, toast the red chili flakes for about 3 minutes to enhance their flavor.
  3. Add rice vinegar, water, sugar, minced garlic, and soy sauce to the saucepan. Bring to a boil while stirring occasionally for about 4 minutes.
  4. Reduce heat to low and slowly add the cornstarch slurry while whisking continuously until fully incorporated.
  5. Remove from heat and let cool before transferring to an airtight container.
