  • 2/3 cup whole milk
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 2 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 46 tbsp heavy cream
  • 4 tbsp brown or white sugar
  • 2 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 12 tsp instant coffee powder
  • 100g semi-sweet or dark chocolate
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/2 tsp instant coffee powder
  • 24 tbsp heavy cream

Instructions

  1. Warm the milk and mix with sugar and yeast; let it froth.
  2. Combine flour, egg, butter, and salt into the yeast mixture; knead until smooth.
  3. Let the dough rise until doubled in size (about 1 hour).
  4. Prepare the filling by melting butter with cream and mixing in cocoa and chocolate.
  5. Roll out the dough, spread the filling, roll tightly, and cut into six pieces.
  6. Allow to rise again (30 minutes) before baking at 350°F for about 25 minutes.
  7. Whisk icing ingredients together for drizzling over warm rolls.
